General Sanitary Registry of Food Companies and Food Products (RGSEAA).
We Assist with the Registration and Management of Your Company in the RGSEAA According to Your Food Activity
We handle the registration and modification of information in the General Health Registry of Food Industries and Food Products (RGSEAA).
The Health Registry is affiliated with the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) of the Ministry of Health and is regulated by Royal Decree 191/2011 on the General Health Registry of Food Companies and Food Products.
It aims to protect public health and consumer interests, facilitating official control of companies, establishments, and products subject to registration.
Registration in the Health Registry is mandatory for companies engaged in the importation, production, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storage, distribution, or transportation of:
- Foods or food products intended for human consumption.
- Materials or objects intended to come into contact with food.
- Technological aids used in food production.
In addition to mandatory registration, companies listed in the Registry must apply procedures based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) or General Hygiene Plans (GHP) to ensure food hygiene and safety, as well as effective quality control systems for both processes and products.
All companies in the dietary supplement or food supplement sector must be registered under code 26, which is specific to dietary supplements (in addition to other food groups). This step is a prerequisite for processing the market notification of products.
At LexSupplements, Food Legal Consultancy, we help you understand your obligations regarding the Spanish Health Registry and ensure that your company is correctly registered under the appropriate activity codes and categories according to your food-related activities. We also assist with necessary modifications, expansions, or cancellations in the said Sanitary registry, as well as preparing the required technical documentation for food safety inspections or audits.
